Mr. Groos was a founding shareholder, officer, and director of The Trust Company when the organization opened for business in 1997.  Prior to joining The Trust Company, he was responsible for trust and investment management activities for Texas Commerce Bank in San Antonio and its predecessors for over 20 years.

Mr. Groos graduated from The University of Texas in 1963 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with concentration in accounting and finance.

Mr. Groos has been active in numerous civic, non- profit, and social organizations.  He is currently a member of the San Antonio Estate Planners Council.
